Happy Turkey Day!

Yesterday was just about the best Thanksgiving ever! My parents, sister, brother-in-law and two nieces came to VA to visit; we ate at the club and not only did I not have to cook or clean, but it was actually very good and then my parents watched the kids so me, Adam, my sister Meri and her hubby Jim could go to the movies. Very good day.

Today we are avoided the outside world like the plague. I think we will do a little on line shopping and then tomorrow will be Kara's baptism. I will post pics of that on Sunday.

Hope everyone else had as good a holiday as me! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family that is willing to trapse up to VA to visit us. This was my mom's 4th visit, and my dad's, sister's and nieces 2nd and Jim's very 1st. I hope they are having a great time too!

Aidan and Georgia are so excited because of course they maw-maw and paw-paw are here and their cousins, and of couse everyone brought lots of presents. Kara is excited because she got to meet her Nanny for the first time. And Adam and I are excited because we get to see our family and they are having so much fun entertaining the kids and washing my clothes and cleaning the kitchen (well my mom is anyway) and cooking breakfast (thanks dad!)

Kara Update and the Great Flood of 09'

At the hotel

Outside our front door

So sorry that I haven't posted in forever, but things have been a little crazy at the Price household. We were in a hotel for about a week after the noreaster, we are just getting back to normal. Oh and I am totally addicted to Twillight now and went and saw New Moon on opening night, I know crazy!

Kara is doing great. Today her pulse ox was 89-92. The doctor she looks wonderful and is about 14 lbs. Next month we may be doing another echo to determine if they will need to do an exploratory cath before her surgery or not. We should also be setting up our appt with the surgeon in about 8-10 weeks.

Kara Update

Dr. Bullaboy listening to her heart.
Getting an EKG. (hasn't had one since first appt, didn't cry at all this time)

Big sis Georgia holding her hand during EKG
Georgia kept saying, "All done Kara," "Good baby."

Getting pulse oxygen checked.

Close up of pulse oxygen.

Baby blood pressure band.

Getting weighed

Kara saw the cardiologist today for her bi-weekly check up. She is doing very good, pulse oxygen peaked at 95 and had an average of 93. Blood pressure was 82 over 54, which is great and her EKG looked good. The doctor said she is doing wonderful, good color, good weight gain and is still looking at doing her surgery some time after she turns 6 months.
Just thought you would enjoy seeing some pics of what happens during a visit, usually she only has weight, and pulse oxygen check (every 2 weeks) and when the doc is here he listens to her heart and they take blood pressure (every 4 weeks.)

Kara's 1st Halloween

Aidan is on the right

We had a very Happy Halloween at the Price house. Aidan's soccer team beat and undeafeated team (I know we aren't suppossed to keep score, but it happens). And then the children begged to go trick or treating all day long. The street we live on base had a potluck get together and then we ventured out for trick or treating. Georgia was a big hit in her adorable leaf fairy costume and even though Kara didn't sleep at all during the festivities she was in a great mood even though she was in a unicorn costume. Aidan was one of about 5 spidermen on base, so it was funny encountering all of the other spidermen.

We got lots of candy and the kids actually slept to 6:30, 7:30 without the fall back!

Santa Maw-maw

Last night Aidan and I talked about what we wanted for Christmas and how he was going to write a letter to Santa, here is how he said the letter would go, "Dear Santa Maw-maw, Thank you for all of my Thomas engines. I need a lot more engines!" So, apparently Aidan has decided that my mom, maw-maw Pam, must be Santa because she is always sending him presents. If he gets on the phone with her and asks for an engine he knows that in about a week, maw-maw will be sending it to him, and that isn't even counting all of the stuff she has bought him and Georgia and Kara when she is here.

We also talked about who or what we loved. He said that he loved "engines," Georgia loved "ponies" (her god parents Jaime and Theo just sent her my little ponies, and Kara loved "bikes" (not sure why a bike but he is only 5. I asked him who I loved and he said "me" and then I asked him who daddy loved and he said "you." Smart boy!

Oh and little something special, I said that his maw-maw was my momma and he told me that "my Hailee and Emma, are my Hailee and Emma," we can't wait to see our cousins, Aunt Meri, Uncle Jim and of course Maw-maw and Paw-paw for Thanksgiving.

The Great Soup Incident of 09'

Georgia's new favorite thing to eat is soup, seriously this girl will eat almost anything. It is a relief, since Aidan won't eat much. Not too much going on with us, just getting ready for Halloween, and trying to get as much done around the house since daddy is home this week and will be gone again next week.
Hope you enjoy to pic of me and Kara, we are looking rough (I am going for a much needed haircut on Friday, and Adam didn't tell me she had milk coming out of her nose when he took the picture of her), she is adorable of course anyway. Kara goes to the cardiologist on Monday, right now our big concern is getting her a medecine to boost her immune system against RSV, so please pray she is approved, also working on getting everyone flu shots.

Kara Update

This morning Kara went in for her Oxygen pulse sat, she is still doing very good, it was around 91-92. Her color is good and she is gaining weight well. She is a little stuffed up again, I think from the changing weather and having to run the heater, but other than that she is doing great.
