Kara Update

First of all sorry I don't have any pics, I am not safe around electronics. I broke the camera or rather it broke while I was using it and while Adam was gone this past week I broke our computer. So I am on the lap top, with no access to pictures.
Kara had her 6 months check up Monday, she was 15 lbs (25%) and the 50% for lenght, can't remember exactly how long. She got 4 shots including her second dose or cynergis (to prevent RSV) and we are going back today to get her flu shots. She was not happy about the shots and neither was Georgia, she cried because Kara cried. That was not a lot of fun for moma!
Kara is still doing really well. She had a long appt today, we did another EKG and ECHO, plus her pulse ox (which was around 91), her weight, blood pressure and length. Of course she was still mad about the shots on Monday so she was not feeling the doctor's appt today, she cried for most of the EKG, which made it last longer and than forget about having to take off all of the sticky things, she was PISSED! Then I had to calm enough for the ECHO. We got most of it done, I wound up holding her which if you've never had to old a 15 lb baby with just your arms while sitting on an ultra sound table trying to manoeuvre her around the wand without waking her, then you haven't lived! We are going back Monday morning to finish it. The doctor will then meet with the surgeon and we should here back soon to here what the next step will be, either exploratory cath then surgery or straight to surgery. I will let you know when we do!
Thanks again for keeping us in your prayers. It is all starting to hit home for us, especially surgery part, if you don't know a lot about what that will entail, you are lucky, because it is petrifying.

Kara Update

Kara's pulse ox was 92 on Monday. Next week she will have all her tests again so the doctor can present it to the surgeon so they can hopefully set a date. Please continue to pray for her, will keep you posted.

Oh our camera died on Christmas Eve, so we took pics with our video camera and once Adam shows me how to download that I will post some for you!

Kara Update

Kara saw the cardiologist today. Her pulse ox was 93-94 and she looks great. She is still gaining weight very well and is nice a chunky, I can say that as a compliment because it is really important that is gaining weight.
Last Monday she got her first round of synagis, which is really important to help prevent RSV. Georgia had her 2 year check up and she is doing great too. She is finally up to the 50% for weight again. She hates going to the doctor and really hated getting her shots.
We are looking forward to Kara's first Christmas. Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed holiday.
Also Aidan had his first Christmas program at school, he was wonderful and really enjoyed it.
I will post video and pictures later.

Kara Update

Enjoying time with maw maw and paw paw
Who Dat?

Kara got her pulse ox today (side note I thought I was late, about 15 minutes, however I was early by about 24 hours!) She did great, she actually peaked at 99 and averaged at 96. This is the highest she has ever been. This doesn't change the fact that she will need surgery, but at least it means that her little heart is strong enough to bear here condition until she does have surgery.

Sad note Adam is gone again for another trip, to Barksdale for a week. We miss him lots already!

This past Saturday we were able to celebrate Kara's baptism and a special annointing of the sick mass for her to prepare her for surgery. We are blessed to be able to do this, especially with family in town. We also had a little birthday party for Georgia, she will officially be 2 years old on the 11th!

Kara was so great, she was wide awake for the whole mass and never cried at all. We are so happy that her godparents, Meri Andrews (my sister) and Tim Owens (Adam's good friend and mine too!) were able to come and also my parents, and Meri's husband and children. Thank you Nanny and Godpapa for all of our presents.

Georgia enjoyed all of the attention from everyone, but especially her cousins and she has really been enjoying all of her presents. I have been enjoying the leftover cake and ice cream too much, and hopefully can get myself back on track soon. Aidan, Georgia and Kara had a blast getting a ton of presents from grandparents, aunts, uncles and great-grandparents.

Kara is a little congested this week, so hasn't been sleeping as well, but still better than your average 4 month old. We go for a pulse ox next week and will see the doctor on the 21st.
Adam is off on another trip next week, but since the flood he has been home a lot, since he really doesn't have a desk to work at in the new office.
